Web Recording on Groups!

Last week, we extended web recording Groups. To use this nifty feature, simple visit the group of your choice and choose web record.

For example, if you have a restaurant review in the East Bay (perhaps you have been to Camino or Digs, two of the hot new places), just click this link, http://www.earfl.com/groups/184/webrecord, and you can contribute your review.

We have built this feature to work with current users as well as new users so your friends can contribute with ease. Give it a try!

P.S. Camino and Digs are both good and worth trying!

How to burn an earfl audio CD with iTunes

A few weeks ago we released rss/podcast feeds for users, tags, and groups. You can easily subscribe to them in iTunes and then burn a CD full of earfl recordings.

Here's how, assuming that you're using Firefox:

1. When you're on an earfl profile, tag, or group page you should see an RSS icon in the address bar that looks like

Click on it (not the one above), and then copy the URL from the address bar. It should look something like this if you were on a group page:

http://www.earfl.com/groups/198.rss

2. In iTunes, go to the "Advanced" menu and choose "Subscribe to podcast..." Paste in the URL an click "OK". You should now see the feed in your podcasts area. It should look like:

3. Next to the podcast name, click on the triangle to expand the list.

4. Click "GET ALL" to download the recordings in the feed. Now you can listen to them from within iTunes. It should look like:

5. Create a new iTunes playlist for the CD naming it whatever you like.

6. Now, choose podcast tracks to add to your new playlist by right clicking on them and choosing, "Add to playlist" (then choose the new playlist). When you're finished, you should see all of your selected tracks in the playlist.

7. After putting a blank CD into your disc burner, right click on the playlist and select, "Burn Playlist to Disc". When the burning process is finished you can listen to the earfl's on your CD player.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the reviews...

We have been noticing some great blog articles reviewing earfl.

On Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, we read

"The stories range from memorials, to confessions, to dedications, to whatever is on their mind. Some stories are funny, some sad, some you just want to reach through your computer monitor and give them a great big hug. It's amazing, unique."

Here's the complete review. Thanks!
